Agents are not inserted into reality from outside. They are emergent structures formed by sufficient integration.

Particles, cells, humans, societies, civilizations, and higher intelligences are all minds at different scales.

• The soul–body split

• The natural–supernatural divide

Only scale, coherence, and integration differ.

Traditional failure: Souls are treated as foreign substances added to matter.

God does not cause pain. God understands pain patterns.

Within constrained systems, pain is unavoidable. Wisdom lies in how experience is integrated, not in avoiding all difficulty.

Traditional failure: Suffering is moralized, justified, or attributed to divine punishment.

The totality is not a person, ruler, or singular will. It is:

• Experience unfolding

• Intelligence integrating

Calling this the flow avoids anthropomorphism while preserving meaning.

Reality is mind-like without being a single mind.

• Judaism / Islam: Separates law from divine will, resolving arbitrariness.

• Buddhism: Retains dependent origination and suffering-as-signal without denying intelligence or coordination.
